FLYING STUDENT
About the Program
Cognitive science delves into the examination of human cognition, encompassing processes such as perception, cognition, thinking, knowledge representation, learning, and decision-making, as well as their neural implementations. Marked by interdisciplinarity, it integrates knowledge and methods from diverse fields including psychology, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, linguistics, philosophy, and others. With its innovative approach and emphasis on contemporary interdisciplinary topics such as artificial intelligence and behavioral economics, this program not only enriches academic understanding but also equips students with practical insights, preparing them for dynamics of the real business.
This distinctive study program is the outcome of collaborative efforts from five Central European universities: University of Vienna (in collaboration with the Medical University of Vienna), University in Ljubljana, University in Zagreb, Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, and Comenius University in Bratislava. As one of the successfully evolving multilateral master programs in Central Europe, its interdisciplinary and international nature significantly enhances the graduates' potential in both domestic and international job markets.
Knowledge that Gratuate aquires
Graduates of the cognitive science master program will possess up-to-date knowledge about the human mind, adept at merging formal informatics approaches with experimental methods from psychology and neuroscience. Their profile is geared toward the harmonious integration of both approaches. Program's graduates will develop skills to design and implement integrated intelligent systems and large-scale modern applications, incorporating methods from artificial intelligence and psychological science. Additionally, they will be proficient in designing and interpreting computational simulations across a spectrum of issues related to cognitive science applications. Given the international nature of the program (i. e. cooperation with other renowned universities across the globe), graduates will find it easy to excell on the global market. In short, graduates emerge not only as experts in cognitive science but as versatile professionals ready to navigate the complexities of today's evolving business landscape.
Study Plan
Where You Can Work after Graduation
Graduates from the Master's Program in Cognitive Science have diverse career opportunities across industries owing to the program's interdisciplinary nature. Some potential roles include:
Research Scientist: Engage in innovative research in cognitive science, investigating human cognition, perception, and behavior.
AI Specialist: Develop and implement intelligent systems, contributing to advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
UX Designer: Craft user-centered designs by applying cognitive science principles for enhanced user experiences.
Data Scientist/Analyst: Analyze intricate data sets, particularly in areas like user experience research or human-computer interaction.
Human Factors Engineer: Enhance product and system design using cognitive science, considering human factors such as perception and decision-making.
Double Degree Opportunitie
While this Program does not offer a formal double degree, students have the exciting opportunity to gain international study experience through programs like Erasmus+ and other global partnerships. With the chance to spend one or more semesters abroad, students can immerse themselves in diverse academic environments and potentially receive scholarships to partially cover associated costs. It's a unique chance for valuable international exposure, even though it doesn't result in obtaining a second degree, as is the case with formal Double Degree programs.
